I suck at crafts.
Inspired by this article in Nylon, I challenged TizzieLizzie to a dare: we would make these socks, and we would wear them in public. I managed to trick The Husband into buying the thread, needles, and giant bag of mixed shiny stuff, but somehow couldn’t get a new pair of socks. Impatient as ever, I decided to glitz up some black ankle socks instead.
The results were less than stellar.

Lovely?

I am a very superficial crafter. I didn’t bother to look up the best way to sew a bunch of sequins onto something. My stitching looks laughable.

I also tried to Christmas-up a shirt.

Your turn TizzieLizzie.
PS: While looking for the Nylon article, I found this shaming post from A Dressmaker, whose blog I need to begin reading immediately. It looks like she secured her sequins with little beads. That might have been a good idea.
Oh, it’s on. Stay tuned for my rebuttal, “Why I, Too, Will Never Have an Etsy Shop”
