This adorable mouse brooch.  I should probably buy it before it gets rotated out.

A Wilton Brownie Bites pan.  I wouldn’t have thought I needed one of these, but a few months ago I saw how cute these look when you individually decorate them.  Now of course I NEED one.

I have a penchant for kitchen utensils that are adorable and probably don’t work as well as their standard counterparts.  So of course I want these whisks.  All of them.

And I am pretty sure I would blanch more vegetables and boil more eggs if I had a food pod.

I kind of forget why I wanted these bowls so desperately that I put them in my “Stuff I want” bookmarks folder.  I guess I thought I would eat less ice cream and pasta if my food dish was a measuring bowl.

Like Tizz, I have been trying to keep busy, with varying success rates depending on the day.  Today for instance, I spent three hours futzing with the blog, only to delete one of my blog posts. Great.  I have been a gloomy gus this month particularly, taking lots of naps, eating store bought cookie dough straight from the package.

Reasons store bought cookie dough isn’t as good as homemade for eating raw:

1.it is cold so there is no warm melty butter or 2. warm melty chocolate chips or 3. raw crunchy sugar.

I have also been spending money like I didn’t quit my job and my last day is this Friday.  For example, I bought a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch:

I’m alive and posting! And I had a pretty fantastic weekend. It may be mostly due to the fact that I actually had Monday off (holla!) but it may have also been due to the fact that I got this:

Fondue pot!

Let me tell you, I am an outright cheese FIEND. I am also a fan of melted things, dipping, tiny forks, and “nonstick convenience” so this baby is basically the whole package right here. Basically, neither the boyfriend nor I could wait for actual Valentine’s Day to try this puppy out, so we decided to cheat and give it a test run on Saturday.

Finally following through on a rivetting serious of frozen meal reviews.  First up: Healthy Choice’s Grilled Basil Chicken.

Various events have lead to me eating out/planning to eat out for 4 out of 5 workdays this week.  So tomorrow will have the only frozen meal food review from me.  If it makes you feel any better, greasy pizza and Moe’s spicy salsa/sauce are wreaking havoc on my poor little probiotic belly.

In the meantime, here is a picture of a cheesecake fail:

Clearly it is half-eaten, and wasn’t a complete failure, but it is pretty grotesque, isn’t it? Here is a breakdown of how you make a mangy-looking cheesecake:

Tizzie Lizzie and I have both  been eating frozen lunches for a while now, for a variety of reasons Mostly because Tizz is kind of a bum in the lunch making department, and I am kind of a bum in the not being chubby division.  We’ve arrived at a few anecdotal theories regarding the various brands of under 300 calorie frozen meals available. So we have a new project on the table: for the next few weeks, we’ll be officially reviewing our frozen meals, rating taste, fullness, visual appeal, and nutritional value.

I love online shopping, and one of my favorites is Delight.com.  Everyday features a different “Delight”: an item at a special price for the day.  I did some of my holiday shopping at this supercute, and superchic-ly priced shop; cheese knives for one of my bridesmaids, a gurgling koi for my grandmother, and panda poo stationery for my lovely sister (which I can’t seem to find on the site right now).

The store is virtually (heh heh) bare right now, but a week ago I purchased a Delight Mystery Box.  You can purchase a mystery box at $10, $15, $25, $50, and even $100 price points, and since each box is guaranteed to contain merchandise worth more than what you are paying, I thought it would be a nice time to buy a little something for myself.  Plus with every box purchased, Delight donated $1 to Haiti victims.

Back in Pittsburgh, I worked in this sandwich shop.  It was a pretty popular sandwich shop, and every day we made three soups: creamy tomato basil, vegan chili, and white turkey chili.  These soups were delicious.  I still crave these soups.  Unfortunately, the owners were kind of dicks, so I left after a year, and refused to spend money there ever.  But I had made the soups once or twice, so I know what goes in them, and I think I’ve successfully recreated the white turkey chili.

I love Bakerella’s site. Love love love it.  She has so much patience and creativity, and she creates the most deliciously decadent cookies.

I also love s’mores.  And ever since I convinced Husband to use the fireplace, and we had our first successful fire, I have been craving them.

So when Bakeralla posted her recipe for S’more Cupcakes, I knew I had to make them, which I finally did on Monday night.  I made several fatal errors, the first of which was thinking that I could successfully tinker with the recipe.

My adversary

Here’s the thing. I kind of suck at knitting. I consider myself to be an “artsy” person, so that’s a pretty big blow to my ego. Yeah, I made a few scarves back in high school but that was when I had my mom right there to do all the hard parts like starting it. And picking up dropped stitches. And finishing it. Ok, so I kind-of sort-of made a few scarves. But it can’t be that hard, right? I mean, come on. It’s like making a friendship bracelet but with sticks, right? Right?
